I am a stickler for punctuality. I am, I promise. Though I have been known to be flexible by 5-10 mins (Yes Partha, if there is a good reason for it I am) if the occasion really demands it. Though as I get older (and more digitally dependant) this is becoming a problem. I can visualise puzzled looks especially on young people's faces (your turn will come - sooner than you realise or think it will, that is a certainty).
The point I'm making is that with all the stuff going around - work, personal, social media etc, if I have to do anything I realise it has to be in my calendar. It has to be there in the form of tasks, meetings, appointments with the appropriate reminders etc otherwise with my lifestyle things can fall by the wayside.
Its not just an old age thing (though that makes it worse) but in today's digital age, with all the stuff around you, you (at least I do) get so engrossed in what you are doing that unless you have these triggers and pings going off, someone like me misses opportunity. Like the Ostadi tweet ups I keep missing. The most recent one I missed because I forgot to add it to my calendar. It was the same with my meeting with Samer. We set up to meet on Twitter DM, and I got sucked in to office work and it completely slipped my mind. Samer, this post also an apology to you (for the umpteenth time).
So to all my friends and family, I apologise if I've missed a meeting or an event. But please message me to make sure its in my calendar. If I get stroppy - hit me on the head with this post. I give you full permission to do that. And lets meet on time. Next time.
