Hello there

Welcome to my blog. I blog about my community, my passion, work, food, travel. I hope you enjoy the posts. Let me know if you do.

People are innately good

You may sneer (I do sometimes) but since I decided to join my friend on this trek to Everest Base Camp (I have a little less than a year to get fit) for charity, I am constantly surprised at how giving people are. I am an eternal optimist but starting on this campaign, I have found that people are innately good and if given a chance are only too willing to help and contribute.

In addition to the normal existence and our day jobs, we have Steve who set up our web site for free and is constantly doing bits to it to try and improve it, Carol gives her time to marshalling all of us, doing all the design work, the marketing guy at Al Ain dairy gave us empty milk bottles for our Milk bottle campaign, Karen who is going to keep us on the straight and narrow and help us manage our money, my friends, and customers who have agreed to allow us to collect money at every opportunity. The biggest support has come from the media – Fujairah Observer has donated two full pages of their magazine every month for us to use for articles, advertisements, appeals etc. Since most (if not all) our fund raising at the moment is on the East Coast of UAE because most of the trekkers etc are – this is a great boost for us because everyone from Fujairah to Khor Fakkan to Dibba reads the Fujairah Observer.

Thank you everyone who are helping, have helped – if I did not remember all – I apologise. And a big thank you to anyone who will go on giving their time and money. The kids will thank you all.
