A tale of two geeky questions
For once I would like some responses in the comments here or on any of the social media platforms but I have two problems that is completely baffling me and I am not sure that the suggestions given by "the experts" so far is working. So I know there are a lot of right brain tech geeks out there that would be able to find a more equitable solution that I can follow. Problem number one: My bluetooth connection in the car
My car's Bluetooth system seems to be playing up. for some reason the connection between my car and phone (any phone) keep connecting and disconnecting and while it keeps playing this strange game the radio shuts down for a few secs each time. There are some days when it seems to be fine. My sneaky feeling is that the bluetooth systems firmware needs an update and I tried suggesting this but it has been pooh poohed by the service manager. His suggestion is that its a virus in my phone which apparently interferes with the bluetooth and that the problem goes away if I turn off my wifi before connecting the phone to the system in the car. I was sceptical (and rightly so) because it was a load of tosh and did not work. My car is a Renault Safrane and I wondered if anyone else had a similar problem or if you can suggest a remedy (other than change the car and the system - that is not helpful). I have tried different phones and its not a phone thing.
Problem number two: the wireless connection in the office
For some reason, over the past month, the internet connection in the office seems to be coming and going. We checked with du since they're our service provider and they've given us a site to test speed and according to that site the speed is fine. We check with different routers and its not the router. I don't have the same problem with the Internet at home (its also du) or on my phone (also du). My sneaky feeling is that there is something wrong with one of the cables bring the internet into the office and the router because the network within the office is fine and strong - just no internet access. Once again we've tried suggesting that and other than telling us to go and use a site to test the service - we get nothing else.
Anyone with helpful suggestions?
